Climbing in the Cochamó valley becomes more and more popular. Some years
ago came the first climbing parties of experts to discover this place.
The word to mouth made the round, some articles in specialized press
started to make the curious to have a look around and to try new climbing routes.
Topos had been drawn and info's about how, where and what to climb gets
from partie to partie. To help the "Andinistas" we decided to build a
base at La Junta, from where to start, with roof and fireplace to dry
stuff and store goods.
Here starts also the topo archiv, which will be completed by each group
coming up. We help with transport, from the airport, bus terminal,
Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt up to La Junta. The last part on horse
back. Campo Aventura also started to become the supplier of the parties,
due to the fact that we move a lot on this trail and can help with
cheaper buying and transport.
